Get-together in NYC this coming Sunday! 7/2/2006

Yo yo yo, wassup homiez??? (Translation: I haven't learned any new slang terms since 1987)

Word on the streets is that there will be a get-together in New York City's famed Riverside Park, this coming Sunday, July 2, 2006. This is going to be the one event this year you won't want to miss. Hahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahahahahahahahahah just kidding. But seriously if you're in town (or close thereof) and in the mood for a potluck style picnic, please consider this as one of your many choices.

Even if you're not in town, consider flying in just for this one thing and then flying home as soon as it's over. You may find that it was almost worth it.

The information that I've gathered suggests that at least some people are likely to attend - Vivian, Jessie, Kaja & Karynn, me, so far. Some significant others and children will probably be there too, and at least one animal. If your parents, siblings, and/or 1st degree relatives would like to come, that's great except they have to bring their own food just like everyone else, and they might have to sign a waiver. Same goes for friends & business associates and for strangers you meet on the way there. No nude sunbathing will be allowed.

It's unclear to me exactly where in the park it will be, or exactly when it will take place, but these types of things are not really important anyway.

Show of hands?

MoCCA Art Festival this weekend

I'm going to be in NYC tomorrow, June 10, for the MoCCA Art Festival -- a place where a bunch of indie comic book creators gather to hawk their wares and babble about comic books. Probably not much like the New York Comic-Con (don't know if I ever linked to the photo gallery I took while I was there) -- this is where the Cool Kids go to talk about comics, but luckily most of them are nice enough to let nerds like me in, too.

It'll be at the Puck Building from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM, though Frances and I will need to leave a lot sooner than that. Anybody gonna be around and willing to either meet up for lunch and/or gawk at cool funky strange comics? Graphic Novels are the hot hip new thing, ya know.
